New Tattoo was a home recording before home recording was a thing. Literally in a home...Pete's home to be specific...When his wife was gracious enough to step out for an hour or two, we'd throw the amps under the couch, we'd push the crib aside, set up the mic stand surrounded on all sides by the peering eyes of creepy stuffed animals and we'd have at it. We took smoke breaks in the two-car garage and afterward we'd slop down pizza or whatever else Pete's wife would bring back for us. Then once we were feeling fat, greasy and disgusting we'd mix the day's work right there at the kitchen table among the dirty plates. Our environment was humble, but our dream was huge. We wanted to do something daring and ambitious—no part was too big, no idea too over the top.
Along those lines, we wanted to make an album of, “all killer no filler,”...We like to think that we achieved that. For the most part anyhow...But there were three songs from those sessions, “Better or For Worse,” “Falling Away,” and “Nineteen.” For whatever reason, they didn’t seem to measure up to the ones that made the cut. They kinda seemed like filler at the time, but maybe we were foolish to leave them off. Maybe they were actually killer. Well one definitely does not feel all that killer, but the other two...feels like we made a mistake, but who's to say. Well you can...So here you go, 20 years later to the day. You can have a listen to these long forgotten tunes and you be the judge. Were we stupid to leave these off, did we make the right cuts?
Regardless, like any piece of recorded music, it captures a particular moment in time. For us, the moment felt like it was ours for the taking. So we took it, and held on for as long as we could. In the end, the band collapsed just a few months after the EP was released. But the music will live forever, and so will the memories from that time period. It was “Something Good,” and we all knew it when we had it—and even more after it was gone.

We led a pretty short but exciting life as a band. We formed in the fall of 2001 under the premise of making unapologetic,
over-the-top power pop music. It started as more of an outlet for our guilty pleasures than an actual band, but as we began working together, writing, recording, and eventually performing we realized that we really had something special.

Very uplifting, positive music. a beautiful mash up of several lovely artist from the 70s and 80s. I pray they make it big, but keep doing this same sound. Don't change, Please! Oneofseven

Like most songs on the album this song shifts between two distinct modes that work great separately, but when they combine, they become Voltron and are unstoppable! bradykoch
